Other providers have one fixed price regardless how small your prescription and do not check your eyes to determine your individual needs. They provide their fixed price on the phone or on their website, charging the same rate even if your prescription is minor. Some providers advertise low prices as a “teaser price” or a “starting price” that most patients do not qualify for. The end cost is often many times higher as they pile on additional costs and fees. These centers often do not provide information on your surgeon’s qualifications, experience nor an opportunity to even know your surgeon’s name. In many cases at those centers, the surgeon has minimal experience and is often a contractor that comes in for the day.

Dry eyes and night glare are the two most common side effects of LASIK.
Most people experience one or both for the first month after surgery. This is common as part of the healing process.
In rare cases, some patients may experience this for longer periods of time. This is a risk of LASIK. In most of these cases, the side effects often subside. In some they do not.
The results typically last a lifetime, but some patients may regress or need a second touch-up or treatment to obtain their best vision. This depends on a number of factors, including your age, higher than average prescription, have astigmatism or other factors.
Typically, there is no charge for enhancements (second treatments) within the first year and if needed most people have their enhancement about three months to six months after their first surgery. If you have a higher than average prescription, or more astigmatism, or are older than the typical patient, you are more likely to need an enhancement.
No, do NOT drive home after LASIK. You will not be able to see and not able to drive. You may also be drowsy.
Plan on having a friend or family member come with you or have someone drop you off and pick you up.
The actual LASIK surgery typically takes 10-15 minutes, approximately five (5) minutes per eye. However, you will be at the surgery for around two (2) full hours on the day of your surgery. Pannu Laser & Vision Institute will use this time to explain the procedure, discuss any additional questions you may have, re-measure your eyes, and provide rest time immediately following the procedure.
Our lasers have eye trackers that move and follow your eyes. At the beginning of surgery, Dr. Mutyala focuses the laser on your eye, enabling both him and the laser to follow any of your slight eye movements during the surgery.
If you move your eye significantly, our surgeon, Dr. Mutyala, will guide you back to the appropriate position. The LASIK technology we use includes built-in safeguards that allow us to start and stop laser eye surgery as necessary to accommodate any movements.

Most people describe feeling a medium pressure on their eye during the procedure. Before your LASIK, your eyes will be numbed with local anesthesia in the form of eye drops. You will be awake during the procedure. After LASIK, some patients experience gritty, watery, and scratchy eyes for a brief time-these side effects often subside quickly.
Each person responds differently to LASIK based on their original prescription, shape of the eye, age, etc.
Your first post-operation check-up should be scheduled the day after your scheduled LASIK eye surgery to review your progress and recommend additional treatment(s), if any.
Many patients have both eyes corrected on the same time. Your vision will be hazy at first. Many patients are able to return to work the next day, while some wait several days before their vision clears up. Most of our patients have their surgery on a Thursday, and are able to return to work on Monday (unless they are in a profession that requires perfect and precise vision). Some patients with elevated prescriptions, extreme dehydration, or other factors may take several months prior to full recovery.
Yes.
Soft Contact Lens Wearers: Stop wearing your soft contact lenses at least four (4) days prior to your LASIK surgery, unless otherwise advised by your doctors.
Gas Permeable Lens Wearers: Unless otherwise advised by your doctors, stop wearing your lenses at least three (3) weeks before your surgery.
Glasses: It is okay to continue to wear your glasses.
